One of the major hurdles for this automotive touch up paint company is the fact that it’s very easy for customers to order the wrong product. Paintscratch will custom mix millions of automotive paints, each formulated for a specific car make and model. This makes it nearly impossible to accurately depict the product; two colors that look similar on a computer screen may appear very different in real life. Additionally, there are a variety of products for different types of scratches, compounding the difficulty of ordering.
When designing a mobile app, I wanted to make sure that it was easy to compare products, ensuring that the customer could make an informed decision. The user should be able to identify their vehicle, then see what products are available and under which circumstances each would work best. Additionally, I designed the infrastructure for a troubleshooting guide, allowing the customer to identify their concerns and receive the appropriate product recommendations.
